Finding the Perfect Match: Choosing Your Wedding Photographer

When it comes to wedding planning, there’s one supplier who will spend more time with you than almost anyone else on your big day — your photographer. From those early morning bridal prep moments right through to the first dance (and often beyond), your photographer is by your side capturing the memories you’ll treasure forever. That’s why finding the perfect match is about so much more than price.

More Than Just a Price Tag

Yes, your budget matters, but the cheapest or most expensive option isn’t automatically the best fit for you. Your photographer’s style, personality, and way of working need to align with you and your partner. After all, you’ll be spending hours together — you want someone you can trust, relax with, and genuinely enjoy having around on your wedding day..

Meet Them in Person

Wedding fayres are brilliant for this. They give you the chance to see photographers’ work up close, chat face-to-face, and get a feel for their personality. Sometimes it’s an instant spark — you’re drawn to their images, their energy, or the way they talk about your day. That “click” is often the best sign you’ve found someone who truly understands you.

I really enjoy meeting couples at wedding shows.

Flyers vs. Digital Brochures

Wedding fayres often mean walking away with an armful of glossy flyers. While they’re lovely to browse, I’ve found that an online brochure is much more practical (and eco-friendly!). Mine can be emailed straight to you — faster, easier, and far more cost-effective. It’s packed with everything you need to know: packages, FAQs, and what it’s really like to have me there on your wedding day..

Secure Your Date Early

Here’s the truth: wedding photography dates book up fast. 2026 is already filling, and 2027 isn’t far behind. If you’ve found a photographer you love, don’t leave it too long — securing your date with a deposit (mine is £500) gives you peace of mind and ticks one very important thing off your wedding to-do list.
