I have been photographing weddings for nearly two decades (eek that’s ages) and can honestly say every couple brings something unique and beautiful to their wedding, and each one has been an honour. Whilst photographing weddings on the Isle of Wight, I have photographed in beautiful country houses, stunning rural barns and quaint village churches. Opulent royal residences, luxury hotels and sailing clubs. There have been weddings by the sea, in stunning gardens, apple orchards and family farms. Every wedding has its own pace and personality and I fit in quietly capturing the day in every detail.

Quietly noticing is my superpower

my role on your day

The ceremony requires me to be quietly unseen.  The changing expressions of the couple. The quivering lip, the tear filled eyes and broken voices. That then explodes into the beaming smiles, sighs of happiness and giggles of delight.  I see the awkwardness of being the centre of everyone's gaze and then the instantaneous comfort of holding each other's hands and saying their vows. It's always such an endearing moment.

Then the fun begins, the group shots! My skills as a sports coach and UN negotiator (not really but it can feel a bit like that) come into play during the family photographs.  I’m normally in competition with the free bar, families catching up with each other and the people popping to the loo!  Then getting the guests positioned and ready for fun of the confetti - “throw it above them and not at them!” We can't have the couple getting dried petals square on in the face, that’s not the shots we want.  Oh, and then the speeches. Happy tears as the parents recollect stories from the couples childhood.  Faces of panic as the best man recollects stories of the stag do.

And then I step back and witness the intimacy and honesty during the newly weds golden hour shoot. Finally they get time just them - away from the crowd - to collect themselves and be truly in the moment.

  • Oh gosh who is? But you are you and I promise you I will ensure that you feel comfortable and confident and you will almost forget I'm there. See me as your wedding day comfort blanket and concierge as this isn't my first rodeo. It's going to be beautiful, amazing, fun and incredibly special.

  • Yes! They'll be putty in my hands! Everyone is unique, every family is unique and that's the best bit. There is more than one way to photograph a family, just like there are many different kinds of family. I make sure to introduce myself and get to know them as if they were my family, too!

  • Absolutely. That’s fabulous! I love a bit of creative inclusion. As long as it doesn't involve anyone removing any clothing, I'm in! I aim to take inspiration from your vision boards to create beautiful, unique art, with your ideas in mind.

the big day is coming

As part of the countdown to the wedding, we will get together and go through the day, who’s who, what's happening when etc. We can ensure we weave in some time to have shots of just the two of you.  It's a must to take some time away from the adoring hoards to catch up and take a moment together alone - well, not completely alone as I will be lurking in the shadows with my camera.

The day comes, HOORAY! You look incredible, marry the person who gives you butterflies, and your bestie is featured heavily in the photo booth album.

As good as these images look on screen and trust me they will look amazing. The best place for them is in print. So regardless of which package you go for, my intention is to make sure you are getting the most out the images of your wonderful day.
