There’s something really special about working with a brand that knows exactly who it is—and who it’s here to serve. My recent branding photography shoots with Amber & Wight, a high-end beauty and facial specialist based here on the Isle of Wight, were just that: a dream collaboration steeped in calm, vision, and pure luxury.

Amber, the founder, is a woman with passion, purpose, and an extraordinary gift for making women feel seen, nurtured, and beautifully cared for. Her bespoke facial treatments go far beyond skincare—they’re an escape from the everyday. And that sense of escape, of calm, was at the very heart of our branding sessions.

Shoot One: Coastal Calm at Priory Bay, Seaview

We began with a sunrise shoot at Priory Bay in Seaview, a hidden gem of a location that perfectly matched Amber’s serene and luxurious aesthetic. The sea was beautifully still, the tide out, and the beach blissfully quiet—just us and the soft whisper of waves.

Amber moved gracefully through the landscape, barefoot and present, embodying the calm confidence her treatments bring to her clients. The whole experience felt like a breath of fresh sea air: elegant, slow, and soulful. These images capture the essence of what Amber & Wight offers—space to exhale, reconnect, and feel your best self again.

Shoot Two: Serenity Inside the Studio

Our second shoot took place in the tranquil surroundings of Amber’s gorgeous treatment space. From the moment I walked in, it felt like entering a spa sanctuary. The air was scented delicately, the treatment couch was prepped with freshly laundered linen, and everything was styled to reflect intention and care.

During this session, I photographed Amber treating clients to her signature facials—gentle massage, hydrating masks, intuitive touch. Every frame told the story of her bespoke approach to skincare. It’s more than a beauty treatment; it’s time carved out for you.

Our next shoot will focus on capturing fresh, professional headshots of Amber—perfect for her website and social media presence—as well as photographs of her carefully curated product range styled naturally within her salon space.

Tucked away at the end of her garden lies Amber’s studio — her creative sanctuary, where music plays softly and bridal magic happens. It's her happy place, and the moment you step in, you feel it: a blend of calm, inspiration, and effortless style.

Amber herself is exactly like her designs — fun, elegant, and so easy to be around. Her gowns are made for the bride who wants something a little different. Unrestrictive, subtly sexy, and full of soul — just like the women who wear them.

This shoot was all about capturing that essence. A designer whose vision celebrates individuality, movement, and beauty without compromise.

We chatted about her brand. I asked her to describe her business. Who her bride is? About her colour palette, the story behind her logo and how she uses photography to connect.

Why suffer for fashion when you can strut, dance and maybe even sprint down the aisle in style?

Ah, the age-old wedding question: to heel or not to heel? That is the question. And whether 'tis nobler to suffer the blisters of outrageous stilettos or to arm your feet against a sea of sore arches with a trusty pair of crisp white trainers… well, let’s just say even Shakespeare would struggle on this one.

Let’s break it down.

Team High Heels

If you’re the type who’s been known to whisper sweet nothings to your Louboutins, then heels on your wedding day might feel like a non-negotiable. They’re elegant, timeless, and give you that statuesque “I-just-married-a-prince” energy.

Pros:

• Instant posture boost. You’ll stand tall, shoulders back, feeling like royalty.

• Legs for days. Even Cinderella knew the power of a perfect shoe.

• They photograph chef’s kiss. The drama! The sparkle!

Cons:

• Pain. Let’s not sugarcoat it. After an hour on cobbled Isle of Wight church paths or garden gravel, you may start questioning all your life choices.

• Sinking into grass. Brides who’ve had outdoor ceremonies know this heartbreak too well. One step and suddenly you’re a tent peg.

Team Trainers

Now, if you’re more into freedom, fun, and being able to feel your toes past 3pm, trainers might just be your bridal BFF.

Pros:

• Comfort galore. You can dance, skip, or even moonwalk down the aisle.

• Statement style. White leather trainers with “Mrs” stitched on the heel? Yes please.

• Total surprise factor. Lift your dress and reveal your secret weapon—the comfy queen lives!

Cons:

• Less traditional. If Great Aunt Edna is expecting a satin pump moment, she may raise an eyebrow.

• Not all dresses are made for trainers—but the right pairing? Absolute editorial-level chic.

The Hybrid Hero: The Outfit Change

Why not both? Cue glitter confetti.

Start the ceremony in your heels—float down the aisle in all your elegant glory. Then, for the reception or post-photos, swap into your trainers like the bridal boss you are. One for the romance, one for the rave. It’s the best of both worlds (and your feet will thank you later).

Final Thoughts (from someone who’s photographed both)

As someone who’s captured hundreds of Isle of Wight “I dos”, let me tell you: the best wedding shoes are the ones that let you be you. Whether you’re clicking down the aisle in Jimmy Choos or jumping for joy in Stan Smiths—own it.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about what’s on your feet—it’s about where they’re taking you. And that’s into a lifetime of love, laughter, and very possibly… more shoes.
